Anger
05.21.04 (6:43 pm) [edit]
Recently, I got angry at a man in a parking lot. Have you ever opened your car door and had it touch someone else's. It doesn't scratch the car or anything....maybe it sets off the alarm. The guy, who I barely see, comes to me demanding that I apologize for [i]touching [/i] his car with my door. I thought he was petty and ridiculous and just for being so petty, I refused to apologize. My anger offended my friend who was with me. She thought that I got too angry at the man, and that I should have been [i]nice[/i]. It turned into an argument. Now, you may ask, what's the point of this story? The point is: Why are women so uptight about getting angry? If I were a man in the parking lot having an argument, no one would think, gee He should be nice. Just what is being nice? Does it mean to not offend? I don't like the word nice. I'm not a nice person. I'm kind and smart and funny and a lot of other things, but nice I am not! Even if I did overreact, why is that not allowed? I'm human. And humans overreact upon occasion. I think women need to stop being nice and start being honest about how we feel. And if angry is how you feel at the moment, then why not express it?

Update Finally!
05.21.04 (6:07 pm) [edit]
Wow! Talk about a defunct blog. Well, I started this thing on a whim and abadonded it just as quickly. But I should keep this thing updated...and so, after all this time, I will make an effort to do so. Not to mention, I won't have to be asked about updates. :) With that being said..here are my musings for today. More things and people which suck. Stupid local politicans....you spend hundreds of millions of dollars on building a new streetcar as tourist attraction, and you can't, at least, make it a functional ride that starts on time. I want my $1.25 back. And to the tourists....people live here...there is abosolutely nothing to see on this streetcar line. Can't you stick to the green streetcars? People have to get to work, you know. Speaking of work...as an unemployed person who is sick of hearing about the non-existant economic recovery, I'd like to know when I'll get hired. Even my Magic 8 ball is telling the truth. Isn't life sad when the Magic 8 ball doesn't lie. Finally the creative muse has returned....all have to say is that it could have returned sooner and that it better not leave again. Threatening the muse always helps. It's probably why it left to begin with. It would help if I had more than 6 feet to be creative in. I just love living in small spaces. And to my neighbors....I really don't want to hear your music or porn at 5 am....this is, as I said, a small space. I should buy some porn of my own, and crank up just as your wife is watching The Young and the Restless. That'll teach you to disturb me, Buddy. Guys named Buddy. Not that that is my neighbor's real name....but for guys with that name...Wtf? It's a dog' name, not a humans. And for something that doesn't suck.....useless facts. I love useless facts. The useless fact for today is: The Roman poet Vergil once held a funeral for a fly, complete with lengthy eulogies and pallbearers. Because burial land was tax exempt, the funeral was held to get a tax exemption for his estate. Clever man, eh? I joked about using my cat as a tax write off all the time. Of course, the IRS isn't as enlightened as the Romans were, and I would be caught eventually. So, I never tried.

So They Captured Saddam
12.15.03 (8:03 pm) [edit]
|
So they captured Saddam. That's great, but it still doesn't justify the war, the killing of our soldiers and innocent citizens in Iraq in the pursuit of one man. Do we really think that the violence will stop? That there aren't people who still have the same mindset as Saddam, and that they won't do their best to stop the "Rebuilding of Iraq" as we like to call it. I prefer to call it Imperialism. What America fails to realize is that we won't solve Iraq's problems, or the problems of any other country in that region just by capturing Saddam. The problem is not with one evil dictator. The problem is with the culture itself. A culture that is at odds with American culture. We are like children...telling the world that democracy is good for them...and that they just need to be like us. Can't you see, democracy is the way to go? And expecting the world to follow along and not understanding when the world doesn't. But the world doesn't work that way. Just because something is good or right doesn't mean that people will do it....that they will have an epiphany and say...You're right! And it won't happen that way in Iraq. We will feel a backlash from this. And what will we really have changed, once the excitement has dissipated and once more our troops are being ambushed?

Homophobic Bastards. My neighbors...Thanks ever so much for stealing my gift certificates from my mail...I hope you all get food poisoning. "ER" or as I like to call it: The John Carter Show...Bring back Weaver and give her a life. Not having cable tv The New Orleans Lesbian Scene...where is everyone...out for pride events and then everyone disappears again. Not to mention the bars suck. We really need something for the women in this city. Local Councilwoman Jackie Clarkson....thanks for singlehandledly trying to eradicate new orleans culture. Artists and Mimes are dangerous and should be arrested, according to you. I hope a thousand mimes surround you and let's see you try to get out of the box this time. My landlord.....fix my sink dammit...and my lights...and um I want a detachable massaging showerhead. The postal service...why did it take 6 days for local mail to arrive? Not having a job....and wanting things when you don't have a job. Not having a car. Constantly being disconnected from the internet. Having an ancient computer. Not being able to think of more things and people which suck.

Welcome to my weblog everyone

As you will come to know, I am a very humble person. So humble, in fact, that I decided that the world needed to know my thoughts and opinions. And take them seriously. In all seriousness, I hope that everyone enjoys taking a ride into the dark recesses of my mind. Remember to fasten your seatbelts, have fun, and return your seat to the upright position at the end of the ride.=http://MindPainter.tblog.com target=_blank [image]MindPainter_116113 7747.jpg[/image]
